Introductory Meditation Classes

Clear Light Buddhist Center offers introductory meditation classes throughout Arizona. These are known as “General Program” or “GP” classes. The classes are designed both as stand alone classes and as a series. You can attend any one of the classes even if the series has already started. There is no pre-registration required.

Our introductory meditation classes are designed to give a broad introduction to Buddhist meditation, teachings, and practice. The classes combine guided meditation with practical spiritual advice that you can immediately apply as a method for solving the stress and problems in your life. In these classes, you will learn how to meditate, how to establish a daily practice, how to concentrate, and how to overcome distractions. You will also learn different meditation techniques that help you overcome negative states of mind, such as anger and selfishness, and cultivate positive states of mind, such as patience and love.

In addition, we have a shorter Sunday morning class at our Center, combined with Meditations for Peace. These classes consist of an inspirational talk, short prayers for global peace and guided meditation to create peace inside of people’s hearts and therefore the world.

The guided meditations are the foundation for developing a powerful meditation practice. A regular meditation practice has many benefits:

  • Gives clarity to solve our problems
  • Helps us deal with difficult people and situations
