Welcome the New Year with a heart full of hope and compassion at our Candlelit Avalokiteshvara Prayers service. Join us at the Kadampa Center for an evening of serene reflection and powerful prayers to Avalokiteshvara, the Buddha of Compassion.
In this special New Year's service, we will engage in heartfelt prayers and meditation to invoke the blessings of Avalokiteshvara, seeking to cultivate compassion, wisdom, and a renewed sense of purpose for the year ahead. The candlelit atmosphere will create a tranquil and inspiring setting, enhancing our connection to the compassionate energy of Avalokiteshvara.
This service is an opportunity to release the past year’s challenges and set positive intentions for the future, embracing the New Year with a compassionate and open heart. All are welcome to join us for this meaningful and uplifting occasion.
Schedule:
7:00 - 8:30pm: Talk, prayers, and guided meditation

About the teacher
Gen Wangpo is an American Buddhist monk and is the resident teacher in Phoenix, Arizona. He has been a student of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche for over 20 years and has taught Kadampa Buddhism for decades at several Kadampa centers.
Gen Wangpo is well known for his practical and skilled way of presenting ancient Buddhist wisdom. He is particularly talented in analyzing subjects deeply, from many angles combining this with compassion. He uses stories and analogies to highlight how accessible Buddha’s teachings are to everyone. Using these techniques, he is offers Buddhist advice that is effective and heartfelt. His combined decades of Buddhist learning and teaching enables him to provide powerful spiritual guidance that can benefit us all.
