Class Summary:

Join a group of like-minded individuals for our annual New Year‘s Eve celebration! Ring in the New Year in a meaningful and positive way, with compassion and beneficial intentions!
The evening will begin with a brief talk with Buddhist monk and Resident Teacher Gen Kelsang Tabkay on creating a meaningful new year with compassion, followed by an explanation of the practice Buddha of compassion, Avalokiteshvara. We will then engage in Avalokiteshvara practice, which is a beautiful arrangement of prayers and mantras and a meditation on compassion.   This event is a wonderful opportunity for making our New Year’s resolutions extra powerful. With a peaceful and compassionate mind, we can dedicate for the welfare of the whole world.


7:30 - 9:00pm | Creating a Happy New Year talk followed by guided prayers and meditation of Avalokiteshvara – the Buddha of Compassion


ABOUT the teacher

Gen Kelsang Tabkay is a Kadampa Buddhist monk and the Resident Teacher at Kadampa Meditation Center Phoenix. He has been a student of contemporary Buddhist Master Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche for many years. Gen Tabkay presents Buddhism and meditation in an accessible and clear way, dedicating himself to bringing peace into the hearts of others.
