ABOUT our classes

Our weekly meditation classes are perfect for beginners as well as those with more experience with meditation and Buddhism. Most classes include a practical teaching on developing inner peace, a guided meditation and questions. We welcome new attendees regardless of religious affiliation, race, ethnicity, sexuality, gender identity, or socioeconomic status.

This series of classes is based on the book How to Transform Your Life by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche. It presents a series of Buddhist meditation practices to bring us closer and closer to an experience of inner peace and lasting happiness.

Imagine a life completely free from anger, jealousy, heartache, dread, loneliness and all the other painful states of mind that cause us so much suffering. We often feel as if it isn’t possible to become free from these painful emotions. But it is definitely possible. Why? Because they are all states of mind, and Buddhist meditation gives us the tools to change our mind.

 

In this series, we will dedicate each week to going after a specific one of these toxic minds – called ‘delusions’ – discovering why it arises and how through our meditation practice we can completely eliminate it from our mind.  These practical methods will allow us to experience a deep and satisfying emotional freedom, and give us the skill to be the person we wish to be, positive, joyful, confident and loving.  Everyone welcome.

This month we celebrate Buddha's Enlightenment and what a wonderful time to remember his kindness through practicing his teachings. If we want to see change in our world, all we have to do is look in the mirror and make the change from within.  With a changed mind we'll begin to see our world in a whole new way. Join us as we learn 4 meditations that will help us begin to transform our mind and to see how things really are.
