ABOUT our classes

Our weekly meditation classes are perfect for beginners as well as those with more experience with meditation and Buddhism. Most classes include a practical teaching on developing inner peace, a guided meditation and questions. We welcome new attendees regardless of religious affiliation, race, ethnicity, sexuality, gender identity, or socioeconomic status.

On-Demand - If you are unable to make it to the live-stream class, just pre-register and you will be emailed a link to after to watch up to 1 week after on your own time! Just register as you would for a normal class!

This series consists of a dynamic combination of guided meditation and teaching, all aimed at enabling students to develop their daily practice and become skillful meditation practitioners.
Using instructions given in the texts, How to Understand the Mind and The Mirror of Dharma, Gen Tabkay will explain the mental tools we need to make progress in meditation. The instructions shared during this course are applicable to all meditation levels and will include simple breathing meditation, meditating on the stages of the path (Lamrim) or Buddha’s profound tantric meditations.

In this meditation based series, we will discover how to practically apply and meditate on patience to help us let go of anger, self-hatred and stress. We will deconstruct the causes of our un-peaceful minds and learn to transform our mental states into the causes of authentic peace.

Our resident Teacher


Gen Kelsang Tabkay is a Kadampa Buddhist monk and the Resident Teacher at Kadampa Meditation Center Phoenix. He has been a student of contemporary Buddhist Master Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche for many years, having received empowerments and lineage blessings directly from him. Gen Tabkay presents Buddhism and meditation in an accessible and clear way, dedicating himself to bringing peace into the hearts of others. He was previously the Education Program Coordinator and Resident Teacher at Kadampa Meditation Center South Carolina.

  • Price is per person - Links to classes are not to be shared

   Refund and Cancelation

  • A registration will only be accepted when made online, and when all necessary information and payment has been received.  Registrations are non-transferrable and a separate registration is required for each person attending

  • Registrants can cancel participation to a live class and receive a full refund by emailing at least 24 hours before the start date and time of the class.

  • No refunds are given within 1 hour of any class.

  • Kadampa Meditation Center Phoenix reserves the right to cancel or reschedule any live class as circumstances dictate
