International Kadampa Retreat Center Grand Canyon
Located in Williams, AZ, just 2.5 hours from Phoenix, The International Kadampa Retreat Center Grand Canyon (IKRC) is one of four international retreat Centers in the Kadampa Buddhist Tradition. Situated next 1.6 million acres of the Kaibab National forest, the IKRC has ideal conditions for meditation retreat.
The IKRC has a 73 bedroom hotel onsite and will be completing the construction of a traditional Kadampa Buddhist temple in September 2019.
The temple will seat nearly 1,000 people and host many programs throughout the year to appeal to a range of guests. Whether looking for a day visit, an introduction to Buddhist meditation, or an in-depth course or retreat, all will find an enjoyable and meaningful experience.
The IKRC Grand Canyon is part of the New Kadampa Tradition (NKT), a global organization founded by the internationally renowned Buddhist Master and author, Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche, who has pioneered the introduction of modern Buddhism into contemporary society.
In addition to the accommodations and meditation room, IKRC also houses a bookstore and gift shop. The bookstore and gift shop carries a range of unique gifts, cards, meditation accessories, Buddhist art, and books on Buddhism and meditation.
We organize regular retreats at the International Kadampa Retreat Center Grand Canyon. We are fortunate to be able to offer such a serene and blessed environment for students to take the Dharma deeply to heart.
Our next away meditation retreat at the IKRC will be the weekend of May 24-29, 2018. Find more information on the away retreat, visit this page.
