Living Meaningfully,
Dying Joyfully
The profound practice of transference of consciousness
with Gen Kelsang Chenma
We are alive, therefore we will die. This is the simplest most obvious truth of our existence, yet very few of us come to terms with this fact. These classes will help us to live a happy meaningful life, to prepare for death, and to help others who are dying. In this way, instead of something to be feared or denied, death can become a positive experience.
Based on the book, Living Meaningfully, Dying Joyfully by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso

The Practice of Taking and Giving
with Patti Blanco
One way of understanding Buddha’s message is to see it, at its essence, as a way of training the mind--specifically, training the mind in positive mental habits that lead to happiness and away from negative states of mind that lead to suffering. In this four-week series, we will learn a very powerful practice of meditation called taking and giving. In the first two weeks, we will focus on the meditation on taking in which we cultivate our compassion for others by meditating on “taking” others’ suffering through the power of our imagination. In the third week, we meditate on imagining “giving” others happiness. In the fourth class, we will learn a special method for incorporating both practices, using our breath to alternate between taking and giving.
